Axial Fan Current Increase After Connecting Duct

What happens to the current of an axial fan when it is connected to a duct system?

When an axial fan operates without a duct, the resistance is low, so the pressure is relatively small. However, once a duct is connected, the system resistance increases, which leads to higher pressure.

The power of the fan is related to the product of airflow and pressure. As the pressure increases, this product becomes larger, which means the motor needs to consume more power. As a result, the current of the axial fan will increase after connecting the duct.

So in simple terms:
Higher pressure → Higher load → Higher current
